He frequently participates in national and international public television networks. Board member of various health institutions. International consulting work in lifestyle medicine and health policy. Co-founder and President, Portuguese Association of Preventive Medicine. Co-Founder and past President of Adventist Help, a volunteer-based organization providing health care to refugee populations in various continents.

Jhuamia Pile
Jhuamia Pile—best known as Mia—is a native of Nashville, TN. Mia is a graduate of Tennessee State University with a Bachelor’s degree in English. As a certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor and former Life Alignment Depression Program Facilitator for the Wildwood Lifestyle Center, Mia brings a world of experience into all of her presentations and trainings. After spending 15 years in ministry and as a teacher/principal, life tragedies hit so hard that she thought she lost her faith. As a survivor of abuse, Mia candidly makes herself vulnerable by sharing her own personal experiences with depression, suicidal thoughts, fears about God, and the tools she used to overcome them. She is on a mission to combat the stigmas surrounding mental health, and to equip everyday people to be prepared to help in the event of a mental health crisis encounter.

Dr. Neil Nedley
Neil Nedley, MD, is founder and medical director of the community-based and residential Nedley Depression and Anxiety Recovery Programs™ and Optimize Your Brain™. Dr. Nedley is an award-winning practicing physician who also serves as president of Weimar University, a higher education college that houses the world-famous NEWSTART program. He has presented and published numerous scientific studies in the medical/scientific literature and is well known as an author, public speaker, and teacher throughout the world.

Kate Chartrand
Kate Chartrand is Certified Life & Stress Management Coach. She holds a BA in Math Education from Brigham Young University and an MA in Family Science from Concordia University-St. Paul, and have received coach training from the World Coach Institute, Spencer Institute, and Academy for Coaching Parents International. Her experience coaching stressed-out professionals of global companies, and her own experience as a mom of 5 of learning how to overcome burnout and stress, has made her an advocate for helping driven working moms overcome stress and live their optimal lives. Her coaching clients have realized gains in areas of their personal and business worlds, including decreased stress, improved time management, organization, accountability, communication skills, and improved relationships.

Dr. David DeRose
David DeRose, MD, MPH, currently serves as President of CompassHealth Consulting, Inc. He is a physician holding board certifications in both Internal Medicine and Preventive Medicine. He also earned a master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) with an emphasis in Health Promotion and Health Education. In addition to his conventional training, DeRose has three decades of experience with lifestyle medicine and other natural therapies. Known for his knack for explaining difficult subjects, he is a popular talk radio host heard weekly on over 170 stations, public speaker, and writer, being published in peer-reviewed medical journals as well as in the lay press. He is co-author of the bestselling book, “Thirty Days to Natural Blood Pressure Control.” His most recent release, “The Methuselah Factor,” makes the complex subject of hemorheology practical and understandable to lay and professional audiences alike.

Magna Porterfield, Ph.D.
Dr. Magna Porterfield is a psychologist who received her Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Ohio State University. She is licensed as a psychologist in both the states of Georgia and Alabama and also has a diploma in nutritional consulting. Dr. Porterfield taught on the college/university level for 7 years (University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and Oakwood University). She was also in private practice for 13 years in Atlanta, GA. In 2007, she made a decision to leave her formal private practice to start a health education ministry that focuses on mental, physical and spiritual health. Dr. Porterfield is currently married to Ron Porterfield, a lifestyle consultant and coach (formerly worked as a staff member at Uchee Pines Institute). Both she and her husband have conducted various seminars in the United States and abroad. The Porterfields have a particular interest in helping others achieve health based on principles from the Bible, science, and inspired writings. Dr. Porterfield is also an author and has written several books, the most recent entitled, “Keys to Optimal Mental Health.” She also continues offering mental health counseling and coaching.
